Ok fine - yes, there’s always time for a stop at Margot Robbie’s house. I mean who else has a living room swing 🤷♂️? But if you wanna stay - bring a check for $3.5 Million.
ALSO: The NYC Hometown Heroes parade for first responders and frontline workers is uh… today, not yesterday. Still at 11a, and it’ll still be 90 and humid so I was close. Stream on any news service with local feeds (CBSN - New York feed etc).

UNIVERSAL PICTURES flicks coming to PEACOCK 4 months after theatrical release
Although the exact description is “no later than 4 months“ so… there’s likely gonna be some flexibility here. UNIVERSAL still has the sliding 17 to 45 day post-theatrical release date window to put movies on PVOD for $20 streaming rental, and then I guess they’ll decide from there on the PEACOCK date.
No mention of an additional theatrical/PEACOCK same day release policy, a la what they just did with the “Boss Baby” sequel.
This will begin once UNIVERSAL’s PayTV output deal with HBO ends this year, meaning with movies that come out starting in 2022. No price or duration for the arrangement given (remember HBO paid a lotta money for this deal over the past decade… which UNI has now declined; $$ from which talent/producers with profit participation on UNI movies benefitted).
UNIVERSAL is also putting windows… in their “Pay 1” 18 month window:
Once a film hits PEACOCK, it’ll be exclusive for 4 months.
Then there’s a 10 month period where it can be licensed to other services (PayTV channels or I guess other streaming services if the check is big enough) while also still on PEACOCK.
Then the movie will be exclusive to PEACOCK again for the final 4 months of the window.
After that, UNIVERSAL can sell the movie to cable TV networks etc for the “Pay 2” window (about 2 years post-theatrical release). /THR
UNIVERSAL will also produce some Direct-to-PEACOCK movies starting next year. No titles specified… but I think contractually one of them has to have “American Pie presents” in the title.
TO NOTE: This all excludes movies from Spielberg’s AMBLIN, which get released theatrically by UNIVERSAL… but go to SHOWTIME in their PayTV window - that deal now extended thru 2024. /Deadline
