Mornin! This is Sean McNulty and here’s the Hollywood + Media news to know on MONDAY November 15, 2021.

Where I’m thinking I may have been part of a very select demo last night who was switching between Sunday Night Football… and the “ADELE sings for her Hollywood friends & talks to Oprah from the rose garden outside of her ‘tea house’ special”. #VeryRelatable

But kudos to another strong week at SNL, where comedy collective PLEASE DON’T DESTROY is quickly taking up the LONELY ISLAND mantle. The fact that this video has more views than Taylor’s 10 minute “All Too Well” performance as of this morning also gives me hope about YouTube.

ALSO: The results of the IATSE - AMPTP agreement ratification vote from IATSE union members come in today.

    • Down a scant 23% from last weekend as the low percentage drop maintains from last week.

  5. “Venom: Let There…” : $4 Million ($202 Million US, $441 Million global)

THIS WEEK: With “King Richard” and “Ghostbusters” arriving on Friday… thinking “Venom”, “Dune” and Bond will take their final bows on the top 5.

DISNEY+ DAY reveals…

Not much. At least in terms of full trailers or even teasers (“Moon Knight” teaser is in the Trailer House below). It was mostly just some pictures and key art, along with some broad premiere timelines for already announced projects.

Not-yet-premiered series “Hawkeye” will get a spinoff called “Echo” and they confirmed the “WandaVision” spinoff starring Kathryn Hahn’s character which was already sorta announced, but now has a name: “Agatha: House of Harkness”.

Wall Street didn’t see much either, stock was down 1.5% end of day on Friday afternoon.

Although “Predator” is getting another movie, this time on HULU called “Prey” and will take place… 300 years before the original 🤷‍♂️.

💻 THE MEDIA BIZ

your guess is as good as mine here. via giphy

INSTAGRAM rolling out a very uneven $$ bonus program for creators making REELS

Exact check is based on the number of views they can get and it sounds like it really varies wildly…. but some people getting about $400-$500 for 1 million views. Seems like a great business model. /TechCrunch

ALSO IN MEDIA

  • A 9-year-old becomes the 10th person to die as a result of the ASTROWORLD tragedy. /Deadline
